Don’t Get Intimidated

A demanding customer will try to take advantage of any perceived weakness on your part. If you get flustered or stumble over your words they’ll try to take advantage of the situation. Remain calm.

State Clearly What You Can Do

As mentioned earlier, once you are able to discern the customer’s concern, recap the problem as you see it, try to get their agreement on the issue. then state, clearly, what you can do.

Last Resort

There may be times when you just can’t get a demanding customer to listen to reason. In cases such as this you have a couple of options:

❖ Tell them calmly that, unless they can answer your questions, you will not be able to help them.

❖ Give them the option of speaking to a supervisor.
